Joining the Mailbase
The mailbase has been set up as a result of discussions within the Society for Caribbean Studies (UK). We felt that we needed a forum for discussion and for sharing information on matters related to the Caribbean. For many of us the annual conference is the only time we have the opportunity to get together and discuss issues related to the Caribbean. Sometimes we can feel isolated from the debates that are going on. We hope that the list will go some way toward filling that gap.
You do not need to be a member of the Society for Caribbean Studies to join the list. We would ask that when you first join the list you send a short introduction about yourself and your interest in the Caribbean. In that way, we can get to know each other.
The aim of the mailbase is to facilitate discussion so we would encourage you to post your views, initiate discussions, share information about conferences, workshops, job opportunities, publications and any other matters related to the Caribbean.
This list is open for all members of the Society for Caribbean Studies based in the UK, as well as students and academics who are working on or interested in issues related to the Caribbean. The aim of the list is to facilitate discussion between the members on issues related to the Caribbean.
